Seeing is Believing
Brochures are fine but nothing beats actually being able to see and feel a product and watch a demonstration of it in action. Indeed, that opportunity attracted a large group of collision repairers to a recent Trade Night in Adelaide where they could get ‘up close and personal’ with the Startline range and a variety of other products, including PPG’s advanced waterborne basecoat system, Envirobase High Performance.
Most of the approximately 80 people arrived knowing little about Startline but many left as converts to the brand, according to Joe Esposito, PPG Refinish Business Manager SA, who oversaw the event at the MTA SA Training & Employment Centre.
“Having the Startline range on display really sparked a lot of interest. People were able to pick up the different products and chat to us about them. Later they were able to watch demonstrations that showed off the performance of these products and we gave them sample bags to take away. In general, most visitors were surprised that the Startline range was so big with all the different abrasives, masking tapes, spray overalls, Startline by SATA spray guns and even the body filler with the handy dispenser.
The demonstrations impressed them but what really got them hooked was how good the pricing is – we’re talking serious performance at a value for money price! Now we have repairers who are keen to further investigate the advantages of using the Startline range and already quite a few are planning full scale trials in their own workshops.”
