Stormy Finish Doesn’t Detract From Stellar Debut Season

Although the Sydney 500 weekend didn’t go as planned, V8 Supercar young gun, Nick Percat, still has plenty to be proud of after completing his first full season in the category. As the heavens opened over the gnarly Homebush street circuit, causing on-track chaos and an early end to two of the three races, the 26 year-old wasn’t able to achieve the results he was after. When the points were tallied up, the number 222 Walkinshaw Racing Commodore driver fell an agonizing 24 points short of his targeted 10th position – eventually finishing 12th overall.

However, from the opening practice session at the Clipsal 500 in March, Nick has been incredibly consistent. For a driver in his first championship year, his race results have been nothing short of remarkable, with 12 top ten race finishes – featuring a close second place at Sydney Motorsport Park and a stunning third place at Bathurst with co-driver Oliver Gavin. This season, Nick has carried the Startline logo on his race car, as well as his racing overall and the brand is proud to have been involved in the emergence of a new driving star.

Startline has partnered with Walkinshaw Racing (which includes Holden Racing Team, Supercheap Auto Racing and Heavy Haulage Australia Racing) to help the team maintain its reputation for outstanding vehicle appearance.
